It’s Customer Service Appreciation Time…

Gimme a “C.” Gimme an “S.” Gimme an “R.”

What’s that spell? CSR!

CSW2015logoforwebCustomer service representatives (CSRs) are the backbone of any contact center. They are the people on the frontlines making sure that your customers are happy and satisfied. They are often the ones who are responsible for either your customers loving or hating your company, based on how a call is handled. Clearly, a lot of “customer service” weight rests on their shoulders.

The first week in October, our call center invested some serious time and effort into showing our CSRs much-deserved appreciation and a good time. Centrinex’s call service center managers had a few original ideas up their sleeves. Our CSRs were treated to breakfasts and lunches, and the candy flowed like a scene from a Willy Wonka movie. We hosted spirit days and encouraged everyone to dress for “Wear Your Pajamas Day” and “Dress Up Like a Superhero Day.” Also, we constructed a “jail.” CSRs could send a manager to the pokey for $5, and “inmates” could buy their parole for another $5. All money was donated to charity.

Our call center isn’t the only one celebrating their CSRs

Customer Service Week is an international celebration of the importance of customer service and of the people who serve and support customers nearly every day of the year. Around the world, the week is marked with celebrations, special events and activities, like the ones Centrinex hosted, that recognize and reward those who serve customers across all industries and professions.

Since 1991, the Customer Service Group has sponsored the official Customer Service Week program. The group provides inspiration from the hundreds of service and support professionals who share their celebration stories, plans and ideas. Also, it raises awareness of the importance of customer service and honor CSRs.

In 1992, the U.S. Congress proclaimed Customer Service Week a nationally recognized event, to be celebrated annually during the first full week in October.

This year’s Customer Service Week theme was Everyday Heroes™. The theme recognizes that CSRs are heroes in their customer’s eyes. It’s a powerful message for service teams and entire organizations to celebrate during Customer Service Week 2015.

Five reasons Centrinex celebrates Customer Service Week

  1. Boost morale, motivation and teamwork
  2. Reward frontline reps for the important work they do all year long
  3. Raise companywide awareness of the importance of customer service
  4. Thank other departments for their support
  5. Remind customers of our commitment to customer satisfaction

Centrinex celebrates Customer Service week for these reasons, but perhaps the most important reason is that everyone wants to feel appreciated for his or her work, especially in an industry as tough as a contact center. We strive to make our CSRs feel appreciated not only for a week in October, but also all year long.
