16 Oct A Friendly Reminder From Centrinex: Go VOTE!
Election Day is November 4, 2014. Write it on your calendar. Set a reminder on your phone or computer. Tie a string around your finger. Do whatever is necessary to help you remember to vote in the upcoming election.
We’re all familiar with the reasons why we, as Americans, should take time out of our busy lives to vote. Democracy should never be taken for granted. Our forefathers fought to preserve our rights and freedom. You can’t complain you don’t agree with policies if you do nothing to change them. The list is long, and there isn’t an acceptable excuse on it for not voting. However, that also means taking responsibility for becoming educated on incumbents and candidates running for office.
Political incumbents to speak at Centrinex
Would-be voters are busy. Everyone is busy. That includes the management team and contact center customer service representatives (CSRs) at Centrinex. Between work, family and personal obligations, who has time to research political platforms? Evidently, not many considering only 40% of eligible voters vote in a midterm election and just 60% vote in a presidential election year according to fairvote.org.
We get it. After all, working at Centrinex takes up eight hours or more of our time a day. Rather than leave it to commercials to do the heavy lifting as far as education goes, we’ve invited incumbents and candidates to visit our contact center right here in Overland Park, Kansas.
Kansas Congressman, Kevin Yoder (running for re-election for the U.S. House of Representatives), will speak to our employees in mid-October. Kansas Senator Pat Roberts (running for re-election to the U.S. Senate) will visit Centrinex’s headquarters in mid to late October. And we have calls in to Missouri’s Emanuel Cleaver II (running for re-election for the U.S. House of Representatives), inviting him to address our staff too. (Please return our calls, Mr. Cleaver.)
As a leading contact center, we’re doing our part in the 2014 election
Centrinex is a U.S.-based contact center. We owe it to ourselves to do what we can to be informed on the political climate, politicians’ platforms and how the political system works. As Bart Miller, Centrinex CEO and Owner, reminds his staff, “If you have a vote, you have a voice.”
